Sure, BF5 improved gunplay and squad play but the game is such a downgrade in terms of everything else IMO. But seeing a giant zeppelin in the sky just crash onto the battlefield is fucking cool. I also love the behemoths even if they feel counter productive. This also feels like the most immersive BF ever, the weather changes are fucking amazing, as well as the soldier voice lines, animations. The "war" feel is amazing, the balance between full on destruction (BF2BC) and set piece destruction (BF4) is perfect, you can really change the look of the map but not entirely flatten it to kill any level design logic. The lower tech weaponry meant less "bullshit" deaths compared to BF4. It's easier to break stalemates compared to some of the earlier titles like BF2, making the game flow much better. The maps in general are really well designed in terms of size and accomodating both infantry and vehicular combat in a non irritating way. Browse the biggest collection of mods, maps, skips, patches and utilities for Battlefield 2, with GameFronts fast, free download servers. To me, BF1 has the ultimate battlefield "feel". Cheers.I love so many of them, and almost all of them have crazy amount of flaws, but in the end I voted BF1 Just a word, if you do buy 2142 you should get the 'Northern Strike' expansion pack (genuine expansion pack not a mod), which apparently brings some more intense maps and new vehicles and weapons. I recently switched to bf2142 for a change of scene in my gaming habits but it just doesn't have quite the bite of bf2. Its not just seasoned players thou cos you notice a haelthy scattering of noobs all over the place in every game, so most rounds are a nice mix of drama, comedy, frustration and of course heaps of fun. and i say 'very popular' not because im a hopeless bf2 fanboy but because there are thousands of people playing it at any one time, a quick search for servers that match your search criteria gets like 800 hits (i generally look for large maps with vehicles). Keep in mind that the locales of Battlefield 2 are. Mashtuur City is a map featured in Battlefield 2 and Battlefield Play4Free that takes place in a city and its boundaries and outskirts. Each map comes in three different versions so it can be scaled for 16, 32, or 64 players. Despite its age its still very popular, i think 3 times more people play bf2 as play bf2142. Below are details on the 11 maps in the game. Check out the stickied thread or ask in the subreddit to get back to the battlefield with the fan-made projects BF2Hub or PlayBF2. The GameSpy shutdown closed the official multiplayer, but fan alternatives have kept the online active ever since with thousands playing weekly into 2021+. Im more or less fed up with it now, but I bought it the month it came out (around august 2005) and more or less spent 90% of my gaming time on this one title. Battlefield 2 is a 2005 PC game developed by DICE. Its hard to describe but 2142 has lost a little bit of that 'magic' that made bf2 sooo good. This was one of the first maps that DICE reworked in 2042, yet the changes made to Kaleidoscope simply werent enough. Breakpoint was virtually unplayable, Conquest proved too chaotic with the lack of cover, and infantry combat was overall frustrating. BF2 is fast paced with some excellently designed maps and just seems to function as a whole alot better than bf2142, which has lost a little something over its predecessor. Kaleidoscope was easily one of Battlefield 2042s worst maps when it launched. What makes this map shine is the Chain Link. Introduced in the Battlefield 4 ‘Dragon’s Teeth’ expansion, Propaganda is set in a North Korean city with a high-speed cargo train dividing the map into two. BF2!!!!! - seriously its the best one imho. This one might not be on everyone’s list of favourite Battlefield maps, but we stand by that Propaganda is one of the all-time greats.
